Sidi Ali al-Jamal ash-Shadhili ق, the Murshid of Imam Darqawi ash-Shadhili ق
Sidi Ali al-Jamal ash-Shadhili ق would often see the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in his sleep and in a wakeful state. He said: “When a thought of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would come to my mind, I would find him and his ten noble and righteous companions present before me, in the sensory and not just in the conceptual..”
Imam Suyuti ash-Shadhili ق, the Mujaddid of the 9th Century AH
Imam Suyuti whose full name is Abdul Rahman ibn Kamal al-Din Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Sabiq al-Din Jalal al-Din al-Misri as-Suyuti al-Shafi’i al-Ashari ash-Shadhili (1445–1505 CE) was an Egyptian religious scholar, hadith expert, jurist, Sufi, theologian, historian and one of the most prolific writers of the Middle Ages. He was a Sufi of the Shadhili order.
Sidi Ahmad Zarruq ash-Shadhili ق, the Regulator of the Scholars and Saints
Sidi Ahmad Zarruq ash Shadhili ق (1442–1493 CE) was a Sunni, Ashari, Maliki Muslim scholar and saint from Fes, Morocco. Although being one of the most prominent scholars in the late Maliki school , he is better known as a Shadhili Shaykh and founder of the Zarruqi branch of the Shadhili Sufi order. He was a contemporary of Imam Muhammad ibn Sulaiman al-Jazuli ق. He is considered one of the most prominent and accomplished hadith, legal, theological, and spiritual scholars in Islamic history, and is considered a mujaddid (renewer) of his time. He was also the first to be given the honorific title “Muhtasib al-‘ulama’ wa al-awliya’" (Regulator of the Scholars and Saints).
Imam Muhammad ibn Sulaiman al-Jazuli ق of the Dalai’il al-Khayrat
Imam Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli ash-Shadhili ق is the author of the celebrated manual of salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ , The Dala'ilul Khayrat (دلائل الخيرات) (Guide to Goodness) . The great imam gathered the selawat that appear in the book from the Sunnah as well as direct inspiration to his heart. He wrote it for all people regardless of their spiritual rank and spiritual path.
Imam Muhammad al-Busiri ash-Shadhili ق of Qasidah Burdah
Imam al-Busiri ash-Shadhili (1211-1294 CE) was a direct student of Abul Abbas al-Mursi ق who was a direct student of Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili ق. He was the poet, the truthful and sincere lover of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the author of Qasidah Burdah.
Shaykh Ibn ʿAṭā Illāh as-Sakandarī ash-Shādhilī ق, the second successor of Imam Shādhilī ق
Shaykh Ibn ʿAṭā Illāh al-Iskandarī ash-Shādhilī ق was an Egyptian Maliki jurist, muhaddith and the 3rd khalifah (leader) of the Shādhilī Sufi order. Born in Alexandria, he taught at both the al-Azhar Mosque and the Mansuriyyah madrasa in Cairo. He was responsible for systematizing Shādhilī doctrines and recording the biographies of the order's founder, Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shādhilī ق, and his successor, Sidi Abul Abbas al-Mursi ق. He is credited with having authored the first systematic treatise on dhikr, The Key to Salvation (Miftāḥ al-Falāḥ) and is mostly known for his compilation of aphorisms, the Ḥikam.
Sidi Abul Abbas al-Mursi ash-Shadhili ق, the successor of Imam Shadhili ق
Imām Abū al-Hassan ash-Shādhilī ق said: "When I pass on, stick to Imam Abul Abbas al-Mursī ق for he is more familiar with the ways of Jannah than those of this earth.” Sidi Abul Abbas al-Mursī ق says of his spiritual master Imām Abul Hassan ash-Shādhilī ق: "He taught me 40 disciplines regarding the sciences of the Deen; the ocean without a shore he was!" Sidi Abul Abbas al-Mursī ق was the successor of Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili ق for the sublime Shadhili tariqah.

Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili ق, the Founder of the Shadhili Tariqah
Imam Abūl Hasan ash-Shādhilī ق [593 AH/1196 AD – 656 AH/1258 AD] is the founder of the Shādhilī tariqah.
Sidi ‘Abdussalam ibn Mashish ق, Murshid of Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili ق
“Let your heart attach itself to the Creator instead of attaching itself to the Creation”
Sidi ʻAbdusSalām ibn Mashīsh al-ʻAlamī was the disciple of Sidi Abu Madyan al-Ghawth ق. He was the spiritual guide of Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili ق, his only disciple. He was regarded as the Qutb (Spiritual pole) of his time.
Shaykh Shukri al-Luhafi ق
Known for his humility, gentleness and asceticism, he would serve water to the attendees of the Shādhilī Hadras and continued even when he lead the majlis. He would also pick up scraps of food in the market and arrange shoes in front of mosques. He has the habit of constantly looking down towards the ground so much so that his neck bone has become crooked. He has also never been seen wearing more than two or three different types of clothing, and once, he only broke his fast with raisins when he did a 40 day fast.
Sidi Abu Madyan al-Ghawth ق
He is the single most important founder of Sufism in the Maghreb and Andalusia. Shaykh Ibn Arabi ق called him "the teacher of teachers". He is Sidi Abu Madyan al-Ghawth (1126 – 1198 CE) the great gnostic of Allah. He was a mureed (disciple) of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani ق . He was also the murshid (spiritual guide) of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Harazim ق who was the murshid of Sidi Abdussalam ibn Mashish ق who was the murshid of Imam Abul Hassan ash-Shadhili ق.
Sidi Mustafa Bassir ash-Shadhili ق
The least benefit of being with Sidi Mustafa Bassir ق is that he striped one bare of such amounts of pretense that if one were a tree one might muse whether one consists exclusively of dead bark.
Lella ‘Ā’isha, Lady of the Shādhilīs
She is Lella ‘Ā’isha al-Manoubya ash-Shādhilī (1199-1267 CE) ق known by the honorific al-Saida [Saint] or Lella [The Lady].
